About CSV and TSV

CSV is a plain-text table where values are separated by commas (or semicolons). Every spreadsheet and database can import it.

TSV is a plain-text table separated by tabs. It is what you get when you copy cells from Excel or Google Sheets.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert CSV to TSV?

Paste your CSV data into the Input box or open a file. The TSV result appears instantly on the right — copy it or click Download.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. FileCrafty converts the data inside your browser, so customer lists, exports and API keys never leave your device. It also works offline once the page is open.

What happens to the first row?

By default the first row is used as column names, so each row becomes an object with those keys. Turn off “First row contains column names” to get plain arrays instead.

My CSV uses semicolons. Does that work?

Yes. The separator — comma, semicolon, tab or pipe — is detected automatically, and you can also choose it in Settings. Quoted values with commas or line breaks are handled correctly.

How is nested data turned into columns?

Nested objects become columns with dotted names such as address.city, and simple lists are joined with “; ”. If the records are inside a property (for example {"data": [...]}), that list is found automatically.

Is there a size limit?

There is no fixed limit — files of tens of megabytes work fine on a computer. Very large files are not shown in the text box, but they are still converted in full.

Is it free?

Yes — free, unlimited and without sign-up.
